Dear Friends

It's been very difficult for me to be with other people. Every time I spend time with them, it feels like I'm out of place. I can't speak properly and can't get into a conversation. But, every time I'm with you guys, my very best friends - I'm comfortable and proud.

I'm with the God-fearing Tropa with very pleasing personality.

BUT!!!

They're constantly not here, they're eternally not around. I can't see them regularly. It's like millions of miles away have been set between us, but it's just only a few kilometers. The distance is so subtle, for they're always online. There's a party of words in our Facebook Group Chat every day and every night - still, those words are not enough to move even a little inches of our skin, closer to each other.

I reminisced the times when happiness was still dominant in our bond. Sitting on a historical structure while captivated by the lights of heavenly bodies. The moonlight at that moment had created a shadow of our affection.

We've been smelling the melted asphalt while we're walking on the crowded street of the city. Searching for different restaurants to eat, and laughing on our cute acts. I miss you so much - my friends.

I felt so much sadness, for we're not complete. There's always a reason why there's be a distance for our happiness.

(for TC)

A Beautiful Talent of Mine

When I was a child. I had a Christian album entitled Jubilee. Every morning I asked my grandfather to play it on our VCD player. I used to sing the song, synchronized to the lyrics that were flashing on the television. I am a 3 year - old at that time.

10 years had passed and at that time, I can say that I have a singing voice, but not so perfect and harmonious. When I'm recording my voice on a recorder and listen to it, It's unpleasant to hear, even though I can follow the notes properly.

I felt insecure to my brothers and my other classmates, for they have a very wonderful singing voice. Their breathing is so good and have been using a unique style that can attract listeners and causing goosebumps.

I often asked myself why my singing voice is ugly. I kept singing in the morning, I mobilized my breath, search Google how to improve singing voice, and more.

I kept recording my singing voice, but I still got disappointed.

A year later, I had joined different choir competition in our School. There, I met Brother Iman and Sir Calipayan. They had taught us different singing and breathing style. I've been doing what they'd taught to me, up to now.

I noticed that my voice got better. I recorded my voice and the improvement was there, I can hear it. I didn't stop having a "hmmm" every morning and doing little vibrato from my stomach.

At last. They'd given me an opportunity to perform on a bigger stage when there's a school festival.

Nowadays, I've been feeling a great positivity when I sing. Thanks to God that he had given me a beautiful talent. That I can use.

Drap Awt

Panay ang hingi ng baon at bonus
Pero sa ulo'y puro hocus pocus
Inaalikabok na ang mga libro
At hindi na nagrereview
Laging DOTA at Facebook ang nasa ulo

Tinapay ang palaging hinihintay
DrapAwt naman palagi
Panay ang bihis ayos
Ngunit ang simpleng exam ay di matapos-tapos

Paano ka aasenso
Kung puro bato ang iyong ulo
Paano makakapag-isip
Kung panay lagi ang iyong trip

Kaya Bukas pagsikat ng araw
Wag ka nang sumayaw
Wag ka nang gumumik
Wag ka nang maghapi-hapi
Pagkat, ang iyong erpat
Ay, nababangkrap
Kailangan mo, nang umuwi
Sa inyong probinsiya
At mag- Araro
Dahil ang iyong mga grado
Ay Puro Singko

Globe Telecom 12mbps Upload Speed

I'm a person who wants fast internet. Surfing the web, watching videos, checking SNS are my daily habit. The 5mbps LTE home connection is so insufficient for me and my family, because, like me, they're using high-bandwidth sites. My brother have been downloading movies and updating PS4 games. Globe Telecom capping (not only Globe) of  50gb per month is so shit. When you consume the 50gb, you will be throttled to 30% of 5mbps which is 1.5 and you will wait next month to refresh the speed.

At our house in Cavite, we're subscribed at 3mbps Globe DSL. (5mbps LTE is at our house in Caloocan.) I am worried because I'm going there to stay for a week. I'm thinking about how slow the data speed, for 30% of 3mbps is. 9 or 1mbps, and I'm sure that we've reached the 60gb data limit. (60gb for 3mbps DSL and 50gb for 5mbps LTE) if we will be throttled to 1mbps speed, It is so slow because it's shared connection for my family there.

     May 16, 2016.
When I arrived at our house in Belvedere Town, Tanza, Cavite, the first thing I did was to check the internet speed. I open the speedtest application on my smartphone, and test the connection.

I was so shock because this was the result. I repeated the test, and the result was just the same. I have been happy yet shocked. I think that it was just a joke. (Seriously) I didn't expect something like that (speed) on Globe Telecom.
12.69 upload speed is so good, for you can watch full HD movies, download games quickly and more. I can watch movies on chromecast too,

I had to visit Globe website to check if they changed their plan. But I didn't see any changes on it. I asked my cousin why did the Internet become fast, he told me that the Globe called and asked if we want to upgrade our plan and add P150 on the monthly bill.

I searched Globe Telecom on Google and went to the news section, but I didn't see news about it.

What about the Upload Speed?

Upload speed it relatively slow. It's 66mbps. Upload speed is the amount of data you can send. It's important when you're playing online games or uploading pictures. I repeated the test again and again, but the results have been just the same.

Today. I will test the internet connection again.

The download speed is just the same and the upload remains slow.

I don't know why Globe Telecom becomes fast. I don't know any other details (like its data cap), for my cousin didn't explain to me anything for he's a newbie for Internet thing.

Hoping for the start of the Philippine Strong Internet connection, with the new administration.

Someone Didn't Die Today

I'm afraid of death in a wrong time. I don't want to see it or feel it. I can't help myself when the situation comes. Just like today.
I woke up late. It's 7:45 in the morning and we have a short film shooting on 8:30am. Even though I know I'm late, I move and packed important things so slow and lazy. I ate breakfast and had a little chit-chat with my brother and auntie.  It's so hot on that morning. My body felt tired to go outside and do something. It’s 35 degrees Celsius and a wind feel of 43. I pressed myself to be energetic and take a shower. Yes! I did it really quick.
After I took a shower, I’m ready to verve. I will go to Antipolo City and it will take about 2 hours of my travel time. I knew I’m very late. I’m about to go out but my grandmother went to her room and took a nap. She felt so dizzy so I moved closely to her, checked her and I thought she was ok.
It’s 8:30am and my smartphone was not ready to unplugged from the charger, so I sit on the sofa and wait until my battery will be 90% ready.
My grandmother went to the comfort room. She stated that her stomach was bad.
Suddenly she shouted for help. “Ian, Ian! Come here! I can’t see anything; my vision is becoming black” she said with a deep painful voice. We thought that it was one of her drama, for my Grandmother have been doing that - to gain attention. Maybe she wants a cuddle or something else done by her family member. But it’s no joke.
When I passed by on the comfort room. I saw her, unconscious. I thought she was sleeping. I call my older brother, Ian to woke her up, for I’m doing my shoe lace. She woke her up but she didn’t move. When I’m finished tying my shoe lace, I wake her up too. She didn’t move or woke up again. She was so cold. I called Michelle our helper to wake her, but she didn’t. It’s like a very cold water was poured on my entire body, I panicked and went to comfort room. I noticed that her breath was stopped. We didn’t know what to do. We’re only three on the house. We’ve called anyone on our landline’s contact list but no one was answering.
“Lord! Lord! Not today please! We’re not ready” I prayed. It’s feel like my body was trembling to death, and gosh she was breathing. I’m relieved, but she’s stayed unconscious.  I kept calling my Aunties.
“She moved” Michelle shouted. I ran to the comfort room and yes! She was moving. We handled her a glass of water. It’s very thankful and the pressure came out. Thanks be to God!
After that, we moved our Grandmother to her room. We turned the air conditioner on to make the room cool.  After an hour, we bring her to the hospital.
At this moment, she’s ok.
Our Life is not ours. We have no power to know at what time it will be shut down, extinct and decomposed. God is the real proprietor. He will make a way to protect or delete it from this world.  Today, me and my brother was God’s given armor to protect or Grandmother’s life from death. He made a way to cancel our appointment. My shooting and Kuya's trip to Puerto Galera was cancelled.

What if we go outside and we leave our grandmother alone? I can’t imagine it. Thank you Lord Jesus, it didn't happen. Death situation is hard to handle. Anyone can die, but someone didn’t die today.

Memories of the Ashes (University of The East Fire Tribute)

There is something really odd about life,
where happiness transcends through the sharpness of a knife
Welcoming nostalgia and seconds of the past,
for burned by fire and a minute knows the last

It was without notice
A home faded into mere rubble
Across the miles of docents
It was without shame
It was without negotiation
Without omen, it possessed bewilderment
Without premonition, it inclined remorse
It was without warning, soil not inherited
It was without notice A home is lost

Forgotten and lost, a face of an oblivion
All was lost, consumed by flames of obliteration
But cherish, cherish all the moments we left behind,
Remnants of all sweet things will never lose in mind.

If love hides in the lowest level of our heart,
So what is essential is worn in the eye
Until Fate decides to snap the string goodbye
In that instance eyes becomes sad kind of plight

Do you remember? The laughter along the hallway
How everything seemed like child's play
Even when stressed with paperwork
Everything seemed like clockwork.

Do you recall that day in April?
When you woke up to news so painful
When your heart ached because of the things you'll never see again
Things that were once so mundane
Now, even though those memories burn in the flames of ember
I hope you will remember, the times spent together
Along the green and white painted walls

Beyond those walls I heard my soul
Within those halls I met my fate
Those places may turn into ashes
But the spirit of the dreamers is getting great

From the ashes of the past we shall return
For our passion residing in our hearts still burns
We find hope in the scorched embers
As the respite comes we shall rise together

Colors and Stroke with Different Meaning

It is wondrous to think that some abstract paintings is so easy, easy to make, for you just stroke different colors through different lines or shape, but have different meanings - based on your interpretation.

Last day, we'd create an abstract painting, because my mother wants to display something special made by her son on our new house in Tanza, Cavite. I want to share what we've done.

Capital Punishment’s Altercation in Justice System

The Philippines has one the sluggish justice system in the unabridged world, for there are no strict punishment the government implements. The percentage of crime rate in The Philippines is decreasing but 37.63% rate is still high and dangerous. Schmooze about firm and to be irrevocable, capital punishment or death penalty is constantly voted in terms of punishment but the major problems of this capital punishment comes from questions like, what happens if guiltless people have been punished through death penalty, and what ensues if inhuman criminal have been caught up and justice was never served. Well, every good and bad has consequences. So let’s take an aspect about death penalty's altercation.
The delineation of death penalty states that it is a system of punishment that involves executing a person after he or she has been found guilty of a crime by his or her legal system, to ensure that the individual cannot commit future crimes, and or as a deterrent for potential criminals. In The Philippines, death penalty was permitted on 1946, but it was suspended on June 24, 2006 through Republic Act No. 9346, which was signed by President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo. However, Senator Tito Sotto is looking forward to bringing back death penalty that needs more attention, for establishing death penalty is not easy as one, two, three, it prerequisites a painstaking research and strong judiciary system.
Death penalty cuts off the opportunity for the criminal to begin a new start. It purges the new life that awaits him or her after their realization and regret. Yesteryears, if a criminal has been found guilty of a crime, he or she will sentenced into death by electric chair. If this measure will be available in The Philippines, citizen will have something to be dread in committing crimes, for core reason why criminals can do a crime is they’re not afraid of facing consequences. Death penalty shows justice. If we punish the guilty, justice will given for the one who seeks it. For example, people who are crying for help and urging justice for the inhuman death of their family, friends or love ones. Justice is the way for them to be relieved.
A crime that is serious must have a equal penalty which is death. It is not true that death penalty is the leading cause of death in other countries. In America, death cause by lightning strike is higher compared to the capital punishment. Killing Criminals can save more innocent people. Then a case could be made that “The existence of the death penalty is likely to save more lives than it takes, and that the lives saved are likely to be those of innocent people, for it is 100% effective in deterring executed murderers from repeating their crimes.” Idea thru Capital Punishment Pro group.
Implementation of this capital punishment is no justice for other people, for innocent men are wrongly executed. It is also very wrong for Godly people through God’s scripture, Psalm 118:18 saying “The LORD has disciplined me severely, But He has not given me over to death” one of the 65 verses on the side of “no to capital punishment” perspective.
Death penalty is like “an eye for an eye” death penalty will give happiness; sorrow and misery, for it will help reduce crime, drug and killing rates in a nation, because every human has a mentality of fearing death. But if you were an innocent man and have a death penalty waiting for you, it will become no justice at all.
Think of it. If death penalty wouldn’t be issued now, there will be more criminals lurking in the dark. But if our government will issue it, make sure that they will make our judiciary system stronger, unbiased and accurate. Therefore, if this is the only way to clean the country by killing the wicked criminals, I will say that I am a pro. But, it is a long process to make it an equal way of punishment. There are more to be fixed and modify in our government judiciary system. The government must start it, step-by-step.

Ratifying National Suicide Prevention Law

                                                                      (C)Google Images
Suicide is the act of intentionally causing about one's own death. It is a disturbing sort of death, for it involves the relatives of the victim, worried to the environment of spurious assault on emotional well-being made by both people in general and religious groups.

The World Health Organization (WHO) named the Philippines as one of the nation with the most astounding incident of depression in Southeast Asia. It is a mental issue that can prompt suicide. They also reported that suicide is a major wellbeing issue that the vast majority of the nations were confronting, and Southeast Asia positioned third in Annual Suicide Rate.

In The Philippines, there are no National Laws for suicide prevention. The rate of it have been turning out to be high. Based on 2012 Philippine Statistics Authority(PSA) data, 2,558 Filipinos committed suicide. 2,095 Males and rest were females. They discover suicide death interms of age groups in 10-14, 15-19 and 20-24. The interpretation of the said age tells that teenagers and youthful grown-ups are particularly vulnerable against suicide. The Philippine Government must approved a National Law for Suicide Prevention, similar to the Act of 2005, that requires School Heads and Counselors to gather, monitor and recognize all events and parties connected with suicide.

On September 2013, The Anti – Bullying Act (Republic Act No. 10677) was sanctioned. It was intended to shield students from Bullying, or some other types of roughness. It's fortunate that the Government endorsed this bill, for there Is a strong connection between Bullying and suicide as recommended by recent Bullying related suicides in the US and different nations, including The Philippines, like LiamMadamba an 18-year-old student, who conferred suicide, for he was bullied and blamed for written falsification.

At present, The Natasha Golbourne Foundation, a Non-Government Organization of medicalexperts and activists are helping the Government to alleviate suicide. Dr. June Pagaduan – Lopez, a Psychiatrist and Convener of Citizens Network for Psychosocial Response, a multi-sectorial coalition of Psychological Health experts is among them.

The Philippine Psychiatric Association (PPA) in organization with the Department of Health, has begun a campaign to pass The Mental Health Act. The proposed bill orders the DOH to create "alternatives" to "institutionalization” particularly community based treatment.
Tragic to say, The Philippine Government activities are so slow, contrasted with Non-Government Organization. Perhaps the Government is aiming for the highest suicide rate since we are generally low comparedto other nations.

The common components of National Suicide Prevention for a Government is a "little needs, requiring a focus" to media instruction, access to administration building, community capacity, preparing, scrutinize and assessment.

In suicide cases, expert says "blame ought to never be claimed, and name ought to never be appointed" yet the issue will never be fathom if individuals will continually indicating for fault. This is one of the best possible times for the Government to carry out its occupation for the Citizens. Beside the Government, "Defensive" and "Convictions" of one individual can bring down suicide cases. It incorporatesotherworldly existence, family bolster, peer backing and positive expectance, that every one of us should have been be rationally stable.

Stereotyped thoughts that somebody who submits suicide must be "frail” and unwilling to face life's difficulties. This is appalling. Be that as it may, it can be avoided if we give significance on psychological wellness from various standards, and society from different norms, and culture of life.

Propensities of Generally Accepted Annoying Filipinos

Filipinos have special propensities, some of it are entirely entertaining – even to us, Pinoys. When we take a glance at them, everything is considered; except let it be known, we have a great deal of irritating propensities, as well.

Now and again, these propensities acquire us the wrath of foreigners and individual Filipinos, yet we have ended up on this way that have instilled in us since we were children – basically difficult to break.

1. Filipino time

Irritating as it might be, dominant part of Filipinos are liable of this. We can't land on schedule for an occasion, frequently arriving somewhere in the range of 30 minutes after the planned begin – particularly in gatherings and social affairs. There could be a great deal of reasons why you frequently arrive late to an occasion, yet there are the individuals who intentionally arrive late in light of the fact that they would prefer not to arrive before the actual arranged time just in the event that others would say they were "Filipino Time".

2. Wrapping everything in plastic

As indicated by Vince Golangco in an article on When in Manila, one of the approaches to know you're a Filipino from the Philippines is that you wrap everything in plastic: mobile phones, couches, sleeping pads, books, furniture, the auto, and so on. Some Pinoys intentionally wrap furniture in plastic or don't expel them from their unique plastic bundling.

 3. Reusing for all intents and purposes everything that resembles a compartment.
Purchasing sustenance sold in glass or plastic jugs so we could reuse these compartments later. In this way, a normal Pinoy ice chest would have a mishmash of reused holders in all shapes and sizes, containing nourishment and beverages.

4. Sustenance accumulating or "bring-house" in gatherings

This is particularly valid for those going to occasions facilitated by relatives or companions, with numerous hosts notwithstanding permitting to take a "bring-house". In the host's part, it demonstrates his/her bigheartedness.

 5. You point with your lips
Base on my research, some says numerous Filipinos use their lips in guiding something.
G: Nakita mo yung cellphone ko?
B: Ayun oh! (lips pointing)

 6. Making discussions utilizing unclear words
A ton of us loved to utilize obscure words as a part of discussions. Like this case:

A: "Si ano, nagpa-ano na!"

B: "Sino?"

A: "Si ano. Yung kwan…Yung ano."

Also, guess what? You can really fill in the spaces in the discussion and comprehend what the other individual is discussing.

7. Simple adaption of new language
You presumably heard some of your companions utilization words like "jowa", "churva", "keri", "keribels" and "push mo yan 'te".

8. The jumble celebration supper
We're attached to having a go at everything on the smorgasbord or a meal with many different food, bringing about a jumble party dinner. For example, you can see individuals' plates with everything believable from the smorgasbord – regardless of the fact that these things weren't generally intended to be combined.

  9. Utilizing amusing names and monikers
Numerous outsiders comment how "odd" Filipinos' names or handles are – however we truly like utilizing syllabic repeat like "JunJun", "JoyJoy", "VanVan", "TonTon", "BongBong", "TinTin", and so forth or including "h" to names, including "Jhun", "Jhay", "Khris", "Jhoy", and so on. likewise, brought up that you presumably have an "Uncle Boy", "Close relative Girly" or "Aunt Baby", right?

10. You cherish video karaoke (videoke)

What's a gathering without a videoke? Gracious better believe it! Indeed, even individuals like Manny Pacquiao appreciate singing karaoke in spite of getting to be popular and rich as of now,

Things being what they are, would you say you are blameworthy of these Filipino habits? Or would you be able to propose more propensities to add to the list.

Eternal Memories

"Masaya ako ngayon. Kahit ako'y matanda na, hinding hindi ko makakalimutan ang pangyayaring nagpabago sa aking buhay"

She open the old photo album and told me that she was beautiful back on the days. She smile at me. But her smile faded like a dead rose on a good day. "Tungkol ba sa panahon ng hapon ang gusto mong marinig sa akin? She said.

She is Genoveva Gabriel Gonzales, my grandmother. Born in Camiling, Tarlac on January 3, 1922. Snow hair had been dominating her physical appearance as a cometh wisdom in her 93 years of existence.
Since I was a child, she always told us about her experience on the World War 2. I am not interested on that days. But as I became apprehensive about everything, I want to hark on her story.

74 years ago, Genoveva was 19 years old. She was the oldest among 3. She was aiming for ETC or Elementary Teacher Certificate at National Teachers College. There was no Bachelor's Degree on the early days.
On December 8, 1941, ten hours after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the empire of Japan had started the invasion of the Philippines. Genoveva was forced to stop her studies and she went back to Camiling, Tarlac. She turned up alarmed when she arrived on Camiling.

"Lumikas kami sa bundok habang bitbit ko ang mga pingan. Hindi pa ako nakapagpahinga galing sa Maynila ay nag alsabalutan na kami" She said. They last for about 5 months on the mountains. They went down when the tension had lessen. She said that when they went to the Town, she could not carry anymore the things that she brought on the mountain. "Dahil sa sobrang kaba ko, kaya siguro kinaya kong' dalhin yung mga gamit papunta sa bundok"

Because she was the eldest, she had a responsibility to took care of her younger brother which is 10 years old, and 7 years old sister. Their piggery and farm business was destroyed and snatched by Japanese enlisted men, so Genoveva worked by selling different viand like Dinuguan, Paksiw and Igado, for they need money to eat three times a day, since the Philippines was facing a deep crisis because of war. "Swerte pa nga kami kasi nakakain pa kami ng tatlong beses sa isang araw. Yung iba wala nang makain." She said.

"Bumalik yung mga Amerikano, mas magulo at mas nakakatakot. " She looked at the window. Then she added  "Akala ko mamamatay na ako sa mga pangyayari, pati langit sobrang gulo. It was happened on 1944 when the Americans or the return of MacArthur took place. The Japanese enlisted men suddenly came on their home, and snatched it, for there was a deep well for their water supply. Genoveva's Mom, her Brother and Sister hid on the dugout  on their home, where Japanese enlisted men stayed.

"Nasa dugout kami ng tatlong araw, walang makain. Hindi rin kasi kami makaakyat sa taas ng bahay baka andun pa yung mga Hapon. Pero si Inang umakyat para tingnan kung nasa bahay pa sila, at para makakuha rin ng makakain" She mentioned. Then she became downcast while saying this words. "Ngunit di na sya bumalik."

Even though I always hear her tell that story, it is still painful to imagine the darkness of situation is.
Genoveva, her brother and sister stayed on the dugout for five days, without food and water. She can't cry because her body dried up. Her brother and sister was very hungry and thirsty.  "Gustong gusto ko nang umakyat sa taas. Para sa mga kapatid ko. Pero iniisip ko, kung aakyat at lalabas ako, dinakip at pinatay. Mamatay rin mga kapatid ko. Mas mabuti pang mamatay kaming sabay."  He said.

But she considered to faced the reality that all of them will die. If she will die without doing anything, then its blank slate. So she went upstairs, "Huminga ako ng malalim at nagdasal habang paakyat." When Genoveva when to the Kitchen she was confronted by a Japanese official. Saying "Baru buru, Baru buru" Genoveva Deemed end of his life. The official repeat what he had say. "Baru buru, Baru buru and give me sart" pointing at the Papaya. "Ang gusto nya palang sabihin ay Borrow bolo and give me salt para sa papaya."
The Japanese official gave us some food. Genoveva said that the Japanese officials were the kind one and the enlisted men were barbaric.

Genoveva and his sibling were safe. They stayed on their Grandfather's House, after they went out on the dugout. Genoveva studied Japanese language, and after the war, on 1946 he continued her studies while supporting her siblings.

"Kahit wala kaming balita kay Inang o anong nangyari sa kanya, masaya parin ako dahil naging malakas ako sa bawat problemang nakaharap sa buhay ko. She said

-Based on true story but some points had been changed.
